PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY ECOMERGE CAPSTONE PROJECT SPRING 2015
Welcome to the Portland State Ecomerge website, created and maintained by students in the Multimedia Production capstone class online. Our mission for this site is to inform readers about the proper ways to dispose of and recycle everyday objects that you may use in order to create a cleaner, more sustainable, and livable environment for plants, animals, and people.
When was the last time you used a plastic bottle? How about a plastic utensil or plate, or ate a candy bar with a plastic wrapper? Probably pretty recently. Now think about this, when you were done using those plastic objects, did you recycle them, or just throw them in the trash? This site is here to educate readers on the importance of recycling. We are not telling you not to use plastic, just to think about what you do with the plastic once you are done. There are a lot of consequences to not recycling and littering after using plastics, including harming the environment, animals in the environment, and rising public health and safety risks that come with putting pollutants into the environment.
These problems can seem overwhelming at first, and solutions may not come to mind instantly but don’t worry, this website, and our blog, http://www.ecomerge.blogspot.com , are available to offer easy ways to recycle and dispose of plastics and other objects you may use everyday, but be unsure of how to dispose of.
